2. How to download images free and videos on Pexels
You don’t need to register to download images free and videos on Pexels. Of course, registration offers you additional features. Like, for example, joining the Pexels community and, in addition to uploading your photos and videos, you can contribute and share your photos and videos, on the internet, with other bloggers and photography enthusiasts. So, Pexels, is configured well, too, as a real social web.
But, let’s take it one step at a time. For the moment let’s focus on how to search and download photos free and videos from Pexels, neglecting, for the moment, the participation in the Pexels community.
2.1 Download images free with Pexels
As soon as you reach the Pexels home page, which can be done by clicking on this link, the portal is ready to search for photos and images. This means that, from this page, you will not be able to search and download videos.
Now, if you type in the phrase “Development“, Pexels will offer you the latest searches made by other users. At this point you have two options to search for the photo or image you are interested in downloading. You can click on one of the last searched phrases, or select a phrase from the drop-down box corresponding to the category with which the images were posted on the portal by members belonging to the community. So you select “Development“.
Now, all you have to do is scroll and search for the photo that interests you most, among the many listed and, once found, click on this photo and proceed with the download. To download the photo for free, you need to click on the “Free Download” button. At this point, Pexels allows you to choose how to download the photo, in what format and size. After choosing or customizing the size of the photo to download, click on the “Download selected Size” button.
After a few seconds, the download of the photo will be completed and the image file will be at your complete disposal.
2.2 Download video free with Pexels
Earlier I told you that, with Pexels, you can download photos and videos for free. Yes, it is. In fact, if you remember correctly, after specifying your keyword search phrase, Pexels, it lists thousands of photos, not covered by copyright. On the same web page, there is also another link. The link in question is: “video”.
Next to this link, the portal also displays the number of videos present for the category or key phrase indicated in the search phase. Then, click on this link and Pexels will also list the free videos featured for that specific category. To download the video, you will perform the same operation you did for the photos. Click on the video you are interested in and then on the “Free Download” button.
Here too, you will select the size and format you prefer for the video. Then, after selecting the format, among those listed, click on the “Download selected Size” button.
Again, after a few seconds, the video download will have been completed and the video file will be at your complete disposal.

3. Adobe Stock, the alternative to Pexels
As an alternative to Pexels, Adobe Stock is another very useful portal for photography and web professionals. On Adobe Stock, unlike Pexels, you can download photos, videos, audio and much more. However, it is not free. Or at least, you can download whatever you want on a 30-day free trial. The quality of the media, offered by Adobe Stock, is slightly higher than that of Pexels. So, if you are interested in more professional media, you need to purchase credits, which will allow you to access this content on Adobe Stock. The plans, provided by Adobe, are very convenient, therefore, anyone can afford access to its content, at a cost of a few tens of euros a month. Both Pexels and Adobe Stock today represent a valid solution to the acquisition of photos, videos and much more, which a blogger or professional can count on to enrich their work with quality.
